Process Safety and Risk Management Planning Services

Over the past 20 years the PSM and RMP regulations and guiding principles have advanced and continue to be employed successfully by many organizations to identify and best manage operational risks whether required or as good business practice.  From early origins covering specific industries and chemicals to more generally applied use, these principles continue to be the basis of operational risk management for many organizations.  Expectations to operate safe industrial processes to protect employees and the community have never been higher.

Since the terrorist attacks on US soil in 2001, threats of sabotage and terrorist impacts (both foreign and domestic) have raised the bar concerning security of facilities managing large quantities of hazardous chemicals and introduced law enforcement including the Department of Homeland Security and others into programming for chemical risk and security management.

More recently, with domestic catastrophic accidents caused by failures of effective process safety management, the bar has again been raised by public concern.  This culminated in the signing of Executive Order 13650 in August 2013 by President Barack Obama.

Moving ahead there will be significant changes to regulatory programs that will impact process safety management for all users.
